What is compatibility in Human Design

Are you constantly quarreling with a person and can’t come to a common opinion? You may just not be the right fit for each other. At the “energy” level, of course. In the doctrine of Human Design there is a separate section devoted to the analysis of partnerships. We take the rave cards of two people, lay them on top of each other, and consider how the composite of these rave cards would work. This decoding will help calculate the joint energy mechanics of the union by making a preliminary forecast. But the main thing depends on the person himself. Whether he follows his nature or not, he is interested in specific relationships or does not take them seriously.

If you cannot find a common language with someone, then most likely the problem is not with you. By and large, it is not the other person’s fault that you fail to come to a common opinion. As a rule, difficulties in the relationship of two people arise against the background of ignorance and misunderstanding of their nature and partner. On the “mechanical” level, of course. And desires to adjust relationships to the patterns and imaginations of your minds.

Compatibility in Human Design

For this, the decoding of the composite is needed – in order to understand what dynamics of interaction will occur, has occurred or is already happening with this or that person. Many questions can be solved with this tool:

  1. Family relationships;
  2. Romantic relationship of a couple;
  3. Collaboration with business colleagues.

Deciphering the composite helps to understand the reasons for the contradictions between two people, as well as ways how these contradictions can be eliminated. Of course, the usefulness of decoding the composite primarily depends on the desire to develop awareness of the people themselves. Whether they follow their nature or not, whether they are interested in resolving conflicts or are they happy with it.

This type of decryption is recommended for those who are at least at a basic level familiar with their Design. Therefore, you should study your own transcripts before moving on to studying the composite and gaining some of your experience in decision making through Strategy and Authority.

Deciphering compatibility  (composite) does not guarantee that you will get rid of all conflicts and begin to live in absolute harmony. But at least you can see the places you need to work on together. After all, most of the contradictions between people arise precisely because of misunderstanding. And our task is to make sure that you and your partner can look at each other from a different angle, understanding and accepting your differences.

Compatibility in Human Design

Transcript Compatibility in Human Design

To begin with, there is no such thing as “compatibility” in Human Design. Here we consider not only the topic of love and romantic relationships, but also the interaction between two unique people in general. How you will behave with your parents or children, what potential difficulties you may have with a business partner, or how you still keep in touch with your friends. Deciphering compatibility (composite) is an immersion in the world of human relations, where we consider how the unique characters of two completely different people are combined or not.

Interaction Types

The reading of the composite begins with an analysis of the interaction of Genetic Types. This is the most basic level of decryption – that is where the acquaintance with its uniqueness begins. And already at the level of Types, we can say with confidence about many potential conflicts and contradictions that will arise between you and another person.

Initially, it may seem that the best union is possible only between two representatives of the same Type. But if you delve a little deeper into this issue, it becomes clear that such an opinion is erroneous, like any attempt to determine with the help of the mind what is best for you .. For example, two Manifestoors in the False Self can control each other without knowing the measure or act without informing, which will lead them to mutual anger.

Or if we take two Generators, whose relationship can be too frustrating, when both do not ask each other, but say what to do – in an ultimatum. Despite the rather peaceful nature of the Generators themselves, in their False Self they become rather aggressive and persuasively “persuade” in their opinion.

Or two Projectors, whose relationship can be too sluggish if both ignore their non-energetic nature. Then they will too often try to initiate in the outside world, thereby exhausting themselves and transferring negativity into the relationship. As a result – constant accusations against each other due to the lack of internal energy, manipulation and resentment, transmitted to the partner.

On the other hand, when two people have a common Type mechanic, the nature of the Aura, the Signature and the False Self, it becomes much easier to understand your partner. You can say, you will see in it a reflection of yourself, and you will not demand too much from it. Not to mention the fact that communication with a representative of a similar Type is an endless potential for self-knowledge.

Looking at another person, you will find out how you look from the outside, where you are going too far, and what, on the contrary, are not sure enough. In general, there are pluses, minuses, and everything is only a matter of correctness in relation to yourself and your partner. Your mind does not know which partner you are meant to experience, but it will be right for you anyway if you entered into a relationship through Strategy and Authority.
Centers

The next step in decoding the composite will be the ratio of the available definite / indefinite Centers of each person. The most important thing here is not whether your Centers will coincide or not. Much more important is how many Centers will remain undetermined after matching your Rave cards. The more there are, the more difficult it will be to “fill in” their topic. Just because there is nothing.

And then you will look for someone on the side to “fill” the uncertainty of this or that Center, because it will seem to you that there is some problem, that something is missing and something must be done with it. It’s not necessarily about intrigue – you can, trivially, find a friend in whose Bodygraph an absent (undefined) Center is defined for you.

It is human nature that he strives for completeness. Therefore, you do not need to be afraid of the thought that at times, the person next to you will not seem ideal to you. Ideal (full-fledged) ones do not exist, and you can always feed on the energy of other people. This is the motivation to go out into the world in order to gain new life experiences outside of a relationship with one person.

Compatibility in Human Design

4 Center Compatibility Configurations

Companional – when two people have the same Center. In this case, the couple will have full agreement on the topic of the Center and there will be no conflicts on this basis. But there are options when everyone should follow their own path, which will not always correspond to the partner’s path. For example, if both have a defined Emotional Center, each person will have their own emotional wave. If the Ji-Center is determined, then everyone should follow their own path. Or a Splenic Center can be defined, and then each will have their own “survival style” and habits.

Electromagnetic – when a Center is not defined for any of the partners, but in the composite drawing (the combined drawing of two Bodygraphs), this Center is determined through the connection of your joint Gates. This is pure synergy, when you complement each other, giving birth to a completely new quality that is not in you or in your partner separately. 1 + 1 = 3.

Dominant – when the Center is defined in one person, and in the second it is not defined. Then a person with a certain Center gives this energy with a certain theme, and another receives it. In this case, the effect is either enhanced by the interaction, or, on the contrary, weakened.

Uncertain – when the Center remains uncertain for both partners. In this case, both members of the couple will look for an opportunity to feel the energy of this Center somewhere on the side, with other people. In the False Self you will complain or blame each other that you do not have enough of this energy (this center), or you will learn to develop wisdom together, constantly studying the topic of the open center. Isn’t it great !?

Formula of love in compatibility

According to how many Centers in the composite are defined / not defined, a partnership “formula” is built. There are 5 formulas that have been given symbolic names in English:

Nowhere to go (9 + 0) – all 9 Centers are defined in the Rave Maps composite. In this case, we can talk about the complete self-sufficiency of the couple and the absence of any need for extraneous contacts. Quite a rare case. This is a real relationship for two, in which there is no place for someone else.

But there are a couple of downsides. Firstly, it will be difficult for a child to find his place with parents who “complement” each other so much. Secondly, due to the absence of undefined Centers, the relationship will be “inert”, without any development. And over time, you can get very tired of each other, if you do not learn to “air” the relationship, sometimes resting separately.

Have some fun (8 + 1) – 8 Centers are defined and only 1 remains undefined. There are a lot of common interests in such a pair, and there will be practically no problems for mutual understanding. At the same time, in the life of both people there will be a theme, to the solution of which they will go in different ways and this will be either a “window of rest” or a “problem”. It all depends on other aspects of the Bodygraph and the correctness of the partners. And despite the abundance of common interests, each member of the union should have a personal space, otherwise there will be “satiety” with relationships.

Work to do (7 + 2) – 7 Centers have been identified, and 2 more are in an indeterminate state. Here there is much more room for personal interests, in which a partner is not only optional, but sometimes even superfluous. Because of this, there may be reasons for conflicts when one member of the couple wants intimacy at certain moments, and the second wants to go about his business at this time. On the other hand, it helps to “relax” and take a break from the relationship when a break from each other is required. In such a relationship, it is very important to understand and accept the partner’s hobbies.

Better to be free (6 + 3) – 6 Centers identified, 3 undefined. There is even more “free space” here than in the previous two. In the case of a 9 + 0 couple, many issues are resolved “automatically”, thanks to complete mutual understanding due to the fact that energy is always available, “at hand”. If we are talking about 6 + 3, this is already a critical moment in order to maintain closeness and understanding and compensate for the imbalance of energy in a pair. For this, it is very important to negotiate and maintain a dialogue with your partner. It is necessary to develop “diplomatic” relations – to discuss, negotiate, come to a compromise.

Not a relationship any more (5 + 4) – 5 Centers are identified, and 4 remain in an indeterminate state. In such a relationship, there will be more conflicts than peaceful coexistence. Everyone has their own interests, their own view of the world, their own principles and goals. And very often couples with the 5 + 4 formula have a question: “Why am I still with him?”. If both members of the union have good self-awareness and accept each other, then such a relationship has the potential to become the most “alive” and complete.

In such a pair there will never be boredom – both people will gradually open to each other, showing more and more new sides of their “I” and it may take much more time to get to know each other. But if there is no mutual understanding, then conflicts cannot be avoided.

The Composite of Types and Centers is the “base” level that lies on the surface. We will go deeper into the “drawing” of the Bodygraph, considering deeper levels of interaction. Namely, how are the connections that define the centers in the composite formed, and how they are lived specifically.

Compatibility in Human Design

Compatibility of Channels and Gates

There are several options for compositing Channels and Gates:

Electromagnetism – when one side of the Channel is defined in the Bodygraph of one person, and the other side of the same Channel is defined for another person. Such a composite creates a huge scope for dynamism in a relationship, because you will feel an extension of yourself in your partner. Together you will give birth to a new quality, which is not separately in you or in another person.

On the other hand, with a poor level of self-awareness, the electromagnetic composite of the Channel will, on the contrary, create a reason for conflicts and misunderstanding of each other. In each of you, the quality of only one Gate will manifest itself, because of which you will look at things in your own way, hardly understanding someone else’s point of view. Or there will be a temptation to change “roles” with a partner, wanting to live out his “quality”. But in any case, there will never be indifference in this place. This is where the spark occurs: movement from love and passion to hatred and irritation.

Sponsors – when both you and your partner have the same Channels defined in the Bodygraph. It may not be that interesting for your genes looking for a difference to connect, but the equality of energy can bring an element of strong friendship and understanding into the relationship with the topic of these channels. If this type of connection prevails in the composite, then the relationship will be very stable and trusting – equality and mutual respect for each other will reign in them.

When there is a similarity in personal qualities between two people, there is a strong empathy and similarity in views. But this will require everyone’s awareness of their own Design, so that the expression of your specific Channels does not conflict, but, on the contrary, reinforces each other, bringing diversity to the union. Having deciphered his design, when a person begins to know and accept his true nature, he will allow his partner to do the same.

Dominant – when one of the partners has a specific Channel, and the other does not even have one specific Gate in this place. A dominant is a person’s unique qualities that permeate in a relationship, which will be clearly visible to a partner who does not have these qualities, and a partner with missing qualities will easily describe the second partner precisely for these manifestations of him. You also need to take into account that these are dominant qualities that you cannot change in another person just to accept and admire. Such manifestations of personal qualities can only be accepted or not accepted. There is no other way to do anything with them.

Compromise – when the whole Channel is defined in the Bodygraph of one person, and the other has only one composite Gate of this Channel. Although it is called “compromise,” it is in fact the greatest source of resentment and discord. In such a connection, the person who has only one Gate defined will have to “play by the rules” of his partner, giving in and surrendering to him, and trying not to take it personally, either by making a compromise or creating a conflict. All this is written in detail in an electronic transcript – 130 pages.

After Channels and Gates, we move even further into your Design by moving on to Profiles.

Compatibility of Rave Card Profiles

A profile, at its core, is a role that you will play in life. And in a relationship it is very important how the roles of you and your partner will be combined – whether there will be contradictions between them or, on the contrary, they will complement each other. There are three kinds of connections when we talk about Profile.

Resonant – when both partners have the same Profile. In this case, there is the potential to develop a very deep and trusting relationship in which each person will help the other to develop in life. Here we can talk about complete mutual understanding and mutual support, especially if both live their lives correctly.

On the other hand, it can be a little boring in such a relationship. After all, you will communicate with the person who plays the same role in life as you do. As a result, a rather “static” relationship, no surprises and surprises. You can be familiar with a person for six months, but you will feel that you have known him all your life.

Harmonious – when Profiles are different, but their programs help complement each other. Profiles are harmonious:

6/2 and 3/5;
1/3 and 4/6;
2/5 and 5/2;
1/4 and 4/1;
2/4 and 5/1;
6/3 and 3/6.

When the Profiles are in harmony, there is practically no reason for conflicts in this topic. These are two completely different paths, which, at the same time, perfectly complement and help each other develop.

Dissonant – all combinations of Profiles, except for the ones listed above (resonant and harmonious). In this case, there will be a misunderstanding of each other’s life path, against the background of which disagreements and contradictions are formed.

Love Gate Compatibility

There are two distinct “kinds” of love in the Bodygraph Gate. And depending on which Gate is defined for you and your partner, you can experience completely different feelings for each other. Love is different, and very often due to the fact that the feelings of one are incomparable with the feelings of the other, conflicts arise between people.

The gate of “unearthly” love. These include Gate 10, 15, 25 and 46. Each of these Gates has its own “theme” that goes beyond the classical perception of the feeling of love.

10 Gate of Behavior – love of life as such and the ability to feel alive in this world to love and accept yourself;

15 The Gate of Extremes  is not a “personal” love that extends to humanity as a whole, and not to one person;

25 The Gate of the Self is an all-encompassing love for all living things in this world;

46 The Gate of Determination is love for the physical body, “platonic” love is the need for touch, hugs and other forms of physical contact.

The gate of “earthly” or worldly love. These include Gates 28, 40, 41, 44, 55 and 58. All Gates have their own theme, which, nevertheless, can be called personal or addressed to one person.

28 The Player’s Gate is, first of all, the need to achieve one’s goal and love as a “gift” to the person who helps this very goal to achieve;

40 Gate of Loneliness – the energy of love is expressed in the need to literally “sacrifice” oneself for the sake of the chosen person in order to provide him with what he needs;

41 Gates of Contraction – here love is expressed in the form of an unrealizable dream of an “ideal” – fantasies and desires for love can be transmitted to a partner, as a result of which disappointment overtakes due to the mismatch of expectations and reality;

44 Gate of Vigilance – love for merit, primarily for the active actions of a partner that he takes for the sake of your relationship;

55 The Gate of the Spirit is the pursuit of “sublime” love worthy of a poem. The need to feel boundless and causeless love that fills the spirit, despite any opposing circumstances;

58 Gate of Vitality – “corrective” love, in which the owner of the Gate not only accepts his partner with all his shortcomings, but also helps to get rid of these very shortcomings.

All these manifestations of the energy of the Gate can be described by the word “love”, they will simply be expressed in different ways. And depending on which Gate is defined for you, and which is defined for your partner, you can express your feelings for each other in completely different ways. And that’s okay. Each person is unique and acts according to what lies in his nature.

Compatibility of certainties

It is also important to say about the certainties in the Design of each member of the couple and their composition as a whole.

If, when two Rave cards are superimposed on each other, an integral certainty arises, then this is the potential for the development of a very harmonious connection, a feeling of “soulmate”. Both you and your partner will be able to feel like complete individuals who completely suit each other.

If a broken certainty is formed: the 2nd, 3rd, 4th certainty, then a feeling of guilt may arise due to the lack of manifestations of those Gates and Channels in which the break is observed. Then, in the False Self, both people will compensate for the deficiency of these qualities by blaming each other.

However, if both you and your partner live according to your nature, then you will not have a need to compensate for the quality of the gate at the break points. Instead, you will be able to enjoy your openness to life, periodically filling in a “missing” topic in the outside world, or together gaining wisdom, exploring all possible manifestations of these qualities.

In this article, I have briefly listed the topics that come up in decoding a composite. But of course, here I gave you only the basic calculation rules, and did not delve into each of the sections.
